Welcome to the homepage of the Chen research group in the department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Jacobs School of Engineering of UCSD.
We are interested in energy conversion at micro- and nanoscale scale. In particular, we are working on developing nanostructured materials and devices for thermal to electrical energy conversion and looking at fundamental transport physics of charge and heat carriers (electrons, phonons and photons) in micro and nano structures. We are also interested in applying nanomaterials for solar-thermal energy conversion as well as energy storage applications.
We welcome highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to join our group in conducting research in energy materials. For inquiries, please contact Prof. Renkun Chen via email.
