USAC Mission Statement
The Undergraduate Student Advisory Committee
(USAC) is comprised of MAE undergraduate student representatives selected by
the USAC members and MAE faculty. The basic purpose of USAC is to provide
student input and feedback to the MAE faculty and administration in regards
to the undergraduate programs and MAE student life. By doing so, USAC
actively contributes to improving and ensuring quality in the MAE
undergraduate programs. USAC also provides a link between MAE administrators
and student professional societies.
USAC Operation
USAC formally meets at least once a quarter to discuss the various
concerns brought to its attention from students (via email, surveys, direct
communication) and facility. USAC meets with the UAC (Undergraduate Affairs
Committee) chair and faculty representatives to report the issues of the MAE
undergraduate student body and to receive status of program improvements and
assessment. In addition, USAC provides this website of information and
resources for undergraduates within the Jacobs School of Engineering in
regards to the UCSD MAE Department and curriculum.
