    ASME is the premiere society for Mechanical Engineers, with technical divisions across the breadth of the discipline.  ASME conducts one of the world's largest technical publishing operations, holding many conferences and courses every year, and setting industrial and manufacturing standards.  Dr. Buckley will be the 2002 - 2003 Chair of the ASME Environmental Engineering Divsion.

  • The Combustion Institute

    The Combustion Institute is an international organization with over 2,000 members, dedicated to the study of both theoretical and applied aspects of combustion.  

  • The Air and Waste Management Association

    The Air and Waste Management Association is an organization that provides training, information, and networking opportunities to 12,000 environmental professionals in 65 countries.  They publish the Journal of the Air and Waste Management Association.

  • The National Institute of Standards and Technology

    NIST is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce.  NIST  works with U.S. industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards.  We interact frequently with the Building Fire and Research Laboratory at NIST.

  • Sandia National Laboratories

    Sandia Laboratories is one of the three Department of Energy Defense Progams laboratories, responsible for design, engineering, amd maintenance of the nation's nuclear stockpile.  We interact frequently with the Combustion Research Facility at Sandia's Livermore, CA site.
