Travelling to the Workshop

Here are some basic location maps and ideas of how to get to the Workshop hotel. If you have any questions or concerns about finding the hotel please let me know, and I'll help do my best to sort out problems on an individual basis

AIRPORT
The Hotel is about 12 miles north of San Diego International Airport

TAXI
The easiest way to get to the hotel is to take a taxi from the airport. This will cost about $40 and takes about 20 minutes.

SHUTTLE BUS
The Hotel does not have a shuttle bus that runs to the Airport, however other services do operate from the airport to locations all over San Diego County. The Cloud 9 SuperShuttle service costs about $19 each way and can be reserved online. Reservations are recommended but not required (see the website for more details).

BUS
The buses in San Diego are reasonably good, and the transfer from the airport to the hotel requires 2 routes, and costs $5 for a Day Rider ticket (note that bus drivers do not carry change). Take the #992 bus (Downtown) to Broadway and Broadway Cirle (outside the Horton Plaza Mall), then cross the road and take the #30 bus North (UCSD/ VA Hospital via Pacific Beach) to La Jolla Shores Drive and Avenida de la Playa. DRIVING
I do not recommend that you hire a car since the Workshop will be entirely based in the La Jolla Shores area, but directions and parking details are below in case you need them

Driving south from Los Angeles: I-5 south to La Jolla Village Drive, exit west. Follow to third traffic light and turn left on Torrey Pines Road. Proceed to fifth traffic light and turn right on La Jolla Shores Drive. Turn left on Avenida De La Playa and right on Camino Del Oro. Typical driving time is about 1 hours 45 minutes.

Parking: The hotel has an underground carpark for guests which is charged at $14 / day and will be billed to your room. If the carpark is full, limited additional parking is available on the street.
